I am not sure when or how it happened but all of a sudden we just have what seems like a billion shoes. The closet is such a mess, but I am at a loss as to how to organize it because it isn't big enough for one of those stand up shoe organizers. Any ideas?

Well sounds like you need to go through all the shoes and make sure there aren't any you can either throw away or give away. They also have those shoe organizers that you can hang over a door. You might look around for some of those. Also some that slide under the bed. Good luck.

We have shoe racks in each of the closets but it seems like it does not work. Somehow the shoes always end up bunched up near the front or side door of the house. If we had a hall closes I would put another rack there.

Good question! I have shoes under my dress clothes on the floor in the closet. It's a mess! I have shoes in my office at work too. I have shoes in the kitchen closet. I think the best option is to limit your shoes.
