Default Summer and Winter clothes

One of my friends gave me a whole bunch of clothes that she doesn't wear anymore. My bedroom is overtaken by them right now. I am thinking about buying some plastic bins to find under my bed and on my closet floor. I am going to take all my winter clothes out of my dresser and place them in the bin. Then when summer is over, I will rotate the clothes. I have always just kept all my clothes together--but need more room now.

Do you rotate your clothes? Does it help you stay organized and clean or is it a waste of time?

I've just kept all clothes in the closet with those out of season places in the back. If I'd have enough to have to store elsewhere, those plastic under-bed containers sound like a great solution.

I do use totes (Bins) for off-season clothing. It's more organized and leaves me more room to put the in-season clothing. I hang up most of my clothing and there is not enough room to hang up all the clothes for all seasons.

Also when I'm pulling things out of totes right before the season, I decide if I want to keep it or donate it. If I moved things to the back of the closet, I'm sure I would never get rid of anything.

i use old suitcases that are no longer secure enough for travel. Put all my heavy woollens in the cases and stick them on top of the wardrobes. Then come winter time take them down again.

I tried the whole vacuum bag under the bed when I'm not using my clothes depending on the months but it didn't work. It's such allot of time to be organising what you're going to wear in the first place! I have all my clothes sorted out in pants and tops so it's not that hard to look through them. Too much work makes Jack a dull boy!

Plastic bins can be a good idea but it is important to properly store the clothes so that you don't get moths or other bugs in the clothing. The main thing to do is the be sure to clean the clothes first before they are stored.

We do rotate our clothes seasonally with the plastic bin method. For us adults in the house it's a pretty quick process. It's a little more time consuming with the kids because of course, we have to check alot of things to see if they still fit. A task they are not too enthused about.

The hardest part about this is when the weather is still unpredictable between the seasons and one day we can lose the heavy stuff and the next day it's back to layers.
