I have a garage, but I don't use it for the car. I've seen friends garages where they use it for storage, but it looks so bad in there. Things are everywhere, but have no organization. I've lined up my garage with utility shelves and since I have a lot of things, this helps me better organize the inside of my home, because there isn't as much clutter. I use to have to keep holiday decorations inside before I moved to this new place. I feel more freedom in my new place, because of what I can do with the garage.

If you have the space then put the racks up. When we were checking out some places to move too before finding this place many smaller communities left their garage doors open. Everything was a wreck!

In Florida there is little to no basements in the houses. So people here store everything in the garage. There are not many people I know that can actually put their vehicles in their garage.

Look above you. I'll bet there is a ton of storage space if you are willing to hoist your things. We hang our bicycles and our canoe and it really opens up a lot of extra space. I'm thinking next we are going to start storing totes overhead too.

I live in the Northeast, I need my garage for the car so I don't have to scrape ice off of it every morning.
