Default Where to start?

I seriously have no idea where I should start with my organizing. I am moving tomorrow and I don't know where to put anything. How do you choose where to put thing when you move to a new place?

I am one of those people that don't mind moving at all. I start planning way ahead of time. I get lots of boxes, label (what room are they going into) and number them. I then make a list of the boxes and what they have in.

The last time we moved, my husband's company relocated us. They used a company and they were great. They packed everything better than I ever would. I am hoping that if we need to move again, we can afford the service. I wouldn't know what to do with all the stuff we have accumulated.

When I have moved to different places, I quickly get things about where I think they need to go, then refine as needed until it seems right.

I second the idea to have boxes for each room of your new place, plus a couple for 'undecided'. Even if you throw everything into these your job at the other end will be a hundred times easier.

I make a list of what is left to be boxed, then go down the list. Crossing things off is so rewarding. I label every box with what room in the new house it goes to, and what specifically is in it. That way if you are looking for one thing before you unpack, you aren't digging through 30 boxes looking. Good luck.

By room is a good way to do it, and then within the boxes I put "like" things together, such as bedding and towels in one big box, and mark it accordingly.
