Default Changing jobs

I have been a work at home mom for 5 years. This fall I am going to going out of the house to work and my youngest will be going to preschool/daycare. I am really nervous about this whole change. It is going to be a healthy change but I'm still scared.

Have you ever made a major career change? How did you and your family handle it?

My sister is in a situation similar to you. She has been home for almost 10 years and is about ready to hit the job market again. She is very nervous about it as well and hopes that she's able to find the right balance between work and home life with kids. Good luck with what you decide to do.

I've been teaching for a year and after realizing that it just isn't for me, I've decided to go back to school and buy myself some time to figure out a path for myself. This is probably the worst time to do it with this economy - but it's better than working a job that I don't enjoy. Good luck to you; I hope you have an easier time than I finding a career you love.

I have actually done the opposite, the full opposite. I work from home and take care of my youngest. During any relationship time or single time being an adult, I always was the one who made more than the other person - and now I make less, but I can work in my PJ's.
