Default Handwritten notes

It is proper to write out thank you notes, isn't it? We get thank you notes typed and I find it really annoying. Is it just me? I can understand if they're older and there's an arthritis problem but the younger crowd should have to learn, right?

Thank you notes are a thing of the past. Thank you calls and emails are more like it these days. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Society evolves with technology. I don't think anybody should expect a thank you note either. I believe it's polite to give a gift with no strings attached and no expectation of a letter to tell you how generous you were. I think the exception is an event like a wedding where the bride and groom could not visit with each person individually to express thanks.

That is sad but I agree with TE that thank you notes are something from the past. I would have no issue getting thank you notes typed instead of hand written myself.

Thank you notes? What are they? No seriously my kids and I still write out handwritten thank you notes. I don't get many in return though for things I do of gifts I give.

We don't do thank you notes in our family. We all give each other gifts so it seems pointless. I don't think there should be a problem with typed notes. It's still an expression of thanks. They still took the time to think of you.
