Default Toe pain

Over the summer I broke my metatarsal bone (the one that connects your big toe to your foot) and as a result I ended up with a ganglion cyst on the joint. With the cold weather it has been giving me a lot of pain. Does anyone know how to get rid of one of these?

My daughter once had one of these cysts - it was big. The doctor said they could drain it or remove it. They also said that she should fall down hard on her wrist and it might even pop and just disperse. It was on her inner wrist. It just went away on it's own. I can't imagine telling someone to fall down hard!

Wow! I am shocked someone told you even as a doctor should fall down to get rid of it!! I have never even known anyone that had an issue like that but my sister had a bunion removed before and she said foot surgery is the pits.

Livvie, my aunt had one of them on her wrist too and she said they smacked it with a really large book. Actually in researching what could be done to treat it, they used to call it a Bible bump because to get rid of it they smacked it with the Bible.
