I dislike working holidays, but not for the usual reasons. As a cop I find that I get more domestic calls during the holidays. Anytime there is an abundance of family and booze, fights are bound to break out. It never ceases to amaze me how many families just can't get along when they are all forced into the same living room together!

I could fully understand where you are coming from. Growing up a friend of mine in high school had two parents who were both in the force and they always had stories to tell. I could not even think about trying your job out for a living, even on its good days it can be a rough one. Add holidays to it and its the biggest mess possible.

More power to you, James. Something tells me New Year's Eve is a really crazy night in your profession. It's got to be very sad to see all that domestic strife taking place at a time when people should be focused on love and togetherness.

That to me is really sad! I spend the holidays with my family and my extended family. Never, and I mean never have we ever had to have the police involved. I feel really bad for families that do.
