Default Chicago or New York?

I was watching a Food Network show the other night about Chicago pizza verses New York pizza. Which do you prefer? Personally I love them both for different reasons. If you've never had Chicago style, I highly recommend it as a change to traditional New York style pizza!

NY Pizza all the way. The thinner the better. To me there is nothing better then pizza you can fold over and eat. I love NY pizza! I'm from NY though.

I don't think I've ever had Chicago pizza, what is it like? I know great NY pizza is super thin and greasy! I love it! I can't say which is better though - I've never had Chicago!

I have never eaten either, but I love pizza and can eat any kind, anywhere! Though, the New York pizza, sounds better to me, than Chicago style. I like super greasy and thin the best, too!

Chicago style is a deep dish pizza. It is layered differently than "traditional" pizza. It's dough, cheese, toppings, sauce and more cheese. Don't knock it until you try it....if you like sauce and melted cheese and greasy toppings, it has it all! I'm a New Yorker, though, so it's NY all the way!!!

Definitely New York!! Chicago style pizza is okay, but it is way too heavy and filling for me. I like it thin and greasy, but then again, I grew up on NY style pizza.

I have had both but I am still more fond of Chicago than NY any day of the week, my spouse is the opposite so anytime we go out for it there are a few words exchanged.

HappyDayz, that is a great description of Chicago style...."heavy and filling". I can eat 2 slices of NY style, but I can barely get through one slice of Chicago style. When I make Chicago style, we always have leftovers. When I make NY style, my family of 4 rarely has leftovers.

I'm loving all the answers here! If you haven't tried Chicago style, I would encourage you to do so. It's a different experience.
