Default Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings

I thought you guys may like this idea for Apple Dumplings made with crescent rolls. They don't have to be name brand crescent rolls, any will do. Peel your apples and either toss them in lemon juice to prevent browning or use Fruit Fresh to prevent browning. Lay out the crescent rolls on a plastic cutting board or a piece of plastic wrap you have placed on the counter. Try to stretch the crescent roll as much as possible into a square shape. Place a piece of apple on the crescent roll. Mix up 3 tablespoons of flour, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 cup of white sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and a dash of nutmeg. Mix this well to combine. Place a tablespoon of this mixture on the apple and top with a pat of real butter. Then fold the crescent roll up around the apple and seal as much as possible. Place in a greased 8X8 pan or if you make more, use an appropriate sized pan. When all the dumplings are in the pan, use what is left of the sugar/cinnamon mixture and sprinkle over the dumplings. Place pats of butter on top of the whole thing. Bake in a 350 degree oven until they are bubbly and done. Serve with or without vanilla ice cream. These are delicious!

Those sound very good! I love apple dumplings and apple pie! I'm going to have to go to the grocery tomorrow to get the ingredients and try this out. I bet these would go over very well at a family function.

Thanks for that recipe. I'm going to have to try that one. Seems I saw a booklet or something somewhere not to long ago that showed a lot of things that you can do with those crescent rolls. This one certainly sounds good!

Mmmmm. That sounds really good. I love anything made with apples. I'll have to try this recipe out. I've got to make a grocery run tomorrow anyway so I think I'll just add the necessary stuff to my list and make this!

Thank you! The only odd thing I've ever done with crescent rolls was wrap them around hot dogs and then bake them. Tastes pretty good.

That sounds delicious! I love apple pie so I'm sure I'd love this. Do you remember when Wendy's used to sell apple dumplings with a whole apple inside of them. They were fantastic and I have no idea why they discountinued them.
