We are ready to replace our gas stove, but found out that Home Depot stopped carrying stoves that have pilot lights in favor of those with electronic ignition.

The newer models with electronic ignitions are useless if the power goes out. Somehow, I don't see this as progress!

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Yes, I agree that they are useless and very unreliable. I keep a box of matches handy for all those times that it decides to be difficult.
