I've been thinking about getting a garbage disposal for under the sink. I'm not sure I really need it because I live in the country and throw most of the type of things disposals are for on the compost pile. Is there anything I would actually use it for?

I live in the country, too. Since you have the compost pile, I can't think of any benefits you would get from a garbage disposal. I wouldn't waste money on one.

I live in the county rather than the country, and this house was built in the 70's and doesn't have one. I can't really imagine a whole lot I would use one for though.
