Default How often do you run your dishwasher?

I seem to run my dishwasher more on the weekends since we're home and using more dishes. On average I probably run it once a day. The shortest cycle on mine is almost 90 minutes though!

We have a family of five, so we run our dishwasher every day. We actually have just recently bought a new one. This one seems to take way longer than the previous one, to run a full cycle. It worries me about how much energy and water it must be using. But we just don't have the time, to hand wash dishes anymore.

There are just two of us living in our condo, and we probably average running the dishwasher twice a week. We do some things that aren't really dishwasher friendly by hand.

Probably the easiest question I've answered in a long time... I'm the dishwasher around here... my two hands, and I definitely have to "run it" every day or things would look terrible.

Never had a dishwasher and we don't have space for one here either, so I guess I'm destined to keep washing dishes by hand!

i tend to just use mine if we have had visitors. For just two of us it is silly filling up dishwashers... I get my voice operated dishwasher to do dishes..

i say 'joseph.. do the dishes'... and he does...

Every day! As well as the washer and dryer. Though I do tend to hang a lot of clothing out on the clothes line in the warmer months. I don't like to waste electricity if I can possible save. I try to keep the temperature up on the air conditioner too unless it just gets unbearable.

I'm with Katharina on this one I'm the one who washes dishes around here and that's every day! We've never had a dish washer and neither have my parents. I've never seen the need for one in my own life but I guess under some circumstances I can see where one would be useful.

Wow, my hats off to you ladies who do it yourself. Of course, my kids are old enough now so they can be the dishwasher. Even so, we still have an automated one. I hate the taste of soap in my food, so to be on the safe side we just run it through the machine. I wish I could trust my kids to wash and rinse properly, but they mess up just so they won't have to do it. It works, but I make them pay in other areas.

Ours runs about once a day. I hate loading the thing and usually leave it to my wife. She can pack a dishwasher full of stuff, that's for sure. Myself, it looks full to me when there's a few glass up top and a plate or two at the bottom. lol

I used to be the dishwasher and growing up on the east coast (compared to my mate, who was on the west), I understand dishwasher hands, he does not.

We do have a washer now, which is awesome and I love it dearly. It saves me time when I am running around the house doing a ton of other things. Though I am compact when I use it, maybe 4-5 times per week always depending on what we do that week too.

And its 90mins here as well, with rinse/wash/sanitize/heat dry (super heat dry) too.
