Was helping, or so I thought, my wife do all the pots and pans. Couldn't get the dang crud off so I used steel wool. Ruined the finish. Unfortunately I am not off the hook for washing up again but I do have to buy a new set. A new set for one pan? Nice.
Nice for her... and nice of you to help. I bet you won't forget that lesson again will you? You let them soak before you take anything but a cloth to them!
Ouch! That's horrible! Nice that you are going to get her a new set though. You probably needed it anyway. It's a hard lesson to learn, but sounds like you are making the best of the situation.
