Default Iced Tea

Do you make iced tea? I love it but I can never get the right combination of strength and sugar. I always have somebody else make it for me. I also hear that it's better if you set it out in the sun with the bags in it. Does that actually do anything?

I have a gallon jug that I set outside with 6 tea bags in it. When you make it this way, it's called sun tea. I can't use sugar so I use either splenda or equal to sweeten the tea a glass at a time.

I know people who make sun tea but I don't know what the sun's effect actually is. It makes the tea better than just boiling the bags, I know that.

I don't put sugar in my iced tea so all I have to worry about is getting the strength of the tea right. I have heard about the sun trick, but I haven't tried it myself.

I have given up on making tea in this house. The water tastes bad no matter how long you boil it or filter it. I buy the Kroger sweet tea by the gallons when I want some.
