Default Kitchen Tip

Save one of those large dish washing liquid soap bottles, fill it about 3/4 full of water, then add some bleach to it. Keep it by your sink for some quick clean ups or what ever you might need a little bleach for.

That is a great tip. I keep one in the basement too - to spray if the cat misses the litter box. I am always cleaning up little messes in the kitchen, so I'm sure this will come in handy!

Don't forget that the solution needs to be changed every 24 hours. The bleach will inactivate after it's been sitting for that long when diluted with the water. When I worked at the hospital near here, we had to make up new solution every day first thing.

I had no idea that bleach would inactivate. I just learned that my youngest is allergic to bleach. I am about to buy a steam cleaner because someone else on the board said it was a good way to clean and kill germs. (Not a carpet steam cleaner, but the all purpose kind.)

That sounds like a good tip and really great for quick clean ups. Sounds like it would work well for extra cleaning some dishes too.

I like that. I'm going to have to use that. But the wife says I use way too much bleach for things.

I love bleach except for the smell and we use it to clean a lot especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. I had never heard that about it inactivating the bleach though.

That's a great idea but I'd have to mark the bottle to remind myself. I wouldn't worry about the bleach being inactive-hospitals have a much higher standard than someone's personal kitchen. (I would assume.)
