Default Making Bread And Butter Pickles

I would love to make some bread and butter pickles to can for this winter, but every time I try to make them, they turn out soggy and wilted. What am I doing wrong when I make the pickles?

I'm not an expert but what kind of salt are you using? Pickling salt? That is what is suppose to make them crisp so you may not be using enough or the right kind? Double check your recipe and look around for some more to compare it with.

These are the only pickles that I will ever eat. At summer parties everyone looks at me weird around the crowd since I refuse any dill's. I caught a good recipe that I plan to try out this weekend, if you get to it before me let me know how it turns out.

What kind of cucumbers are you starting with? I would start with that and go from there. Make sure they are the freshest as can be and are the right type of pickling cucumbers.

Mmmmmmmmm! That recipe looks good! I may have to go to the Farmer's Market and get some cucumbers! I love bread and butter pickles. I've always wondered why they call them them that though.
