Default Making a menu

Does anyone here make menus? I usually plan out a menu for an entire month of dinners because I find it saves me a ton of money at the grocery store and I will also make sure I have everything on hand for those meals plus a few extra things just in case. It also saves me time because I can prep stuff ahead of time for dinners throughout the week.

I make my menus a week ahead of time. I don't like to plan any further ahead than that because it gets confusing and I get thrown off kilter with things like leftovers and pizza night.

We have gotten pretty good at weekly menu's. We tried monthly menu's and that was just a big mess. I wish I could get in the hang of it. We switch things up all the time and I found myself running to the store mid month.

I don't always necessarily make the items on a certain day, but I plan the 30 or so meals we will have. I leave Saturdays open because that is generally date night. We take the leftovers for lunches to work so those aren't a problem either.

We don't have a menu at this moment, but we do make pre-cooked meals, like soups, casseroles, etc. and freeze them. This way we can just pull them out when we're busy.

For those of you who plan menus, do you plan for exact servings, or do you ever have leftovers?

I mentally think about what I'd like to make for the week and try to find the ingredients at a good price. If the meat is too expensive, then I just won't buy it and we'll have something else. I always make more than we'll eat because both my son and my husband love leftovers instead of sandwiches for lunch.

This is also something that I have pending on my to do list! What do you use to keep track of the menus for each day? I feel that if I do this, I might save some money on groceries and at the same time ensure that we are eating healthy meals.

We do menus, but not for the whole month. Lennox, I plan for leftovers, and that is what we have for lunch instead of going out or having sandwiches all the time.

We usually plan our menu for the week. It makes food shopping easier and it helps save some money because we get to buy only what's on the list of ingredients. I like making menus. It's a good method to keep track of our diet.

No menus but most times I am planning ahead of time about what I am making for a meal. This way I am not running around the kitchen trying to see what is going to be the next meal.
