Default Organic milk

I've been buying organic milk for my daughter, but I have to question whether or not it really is better. The way the FDA runs the labeling in this country can be scary sometimes and manufacturers and distributors can get away with telling us something is organic when in fact it is only a loose version of the term. Would you trust organic milk to really be organic?

That's really a tough one. I'd research the company that is producing it. That will tell a lot about whether it's really organic. I buy garden seeds from organic sources and it seems like truly organic growers and producers are so serious about growing organically that you can tell they are producing truly organic products. That's not to say that others aren't producing organic products, but I'd go with the ones that you can pretty much tell are serious about it.

You might also buy organic milk at a natural or health foods store. They seem to be reliable, too.

I have tried some organic products but never milk. I am not that large of a milk drinker to start with, cereal and that's about it. It just does not taste the same as when I was growing up.

The only way to make sure that the food you consume is organic is growing it yourself, and it's indeed encouraged to start your own organic vegetable garden. But producing your own milk and other dairy products is a different story.

Well, it's difficult to make sure that you buy organic milk as it is claimed to be. That's why I don't drink milk that much anymore. I substituted it with soy milk.

Certainly when I was young I used to drink milk straight from the cow, still warm and unpasteurised. I'm now 70 so it did me no harm at all. I'm not sure about anything that is produced nowadays because I just do not trust the big corporations that seem to own everything.
