Default Pickled squash

Have you ever canned or pickled squash? My father in law loves to pickle his squash (summer), and I love to eat it. I’m thinking about giving it a try this year. I already make pickles and I can’t imagine it would be much different. Anyone done this? Is it easy?

I started pickling squash last year. My MIL always did it but she is getting up in age now so it's hard for her to do. I use her recipe but just vary it a little. For never having done anything like that before they come out great!

I used to can pickled green tomatoes, but I never thought about pickling squash. It sounds good! What do you use it for? Salads, sandwiches, etc?

I've done a lot of this. My husband loves to put them on hotdogs and fish sandwiches. And you also can eat them like you would other pickles. They are really good!

We have done this too and it is very good. We just eat them like regular pickles. We put onions and peppers in with the yellow summer squash. I have not tried it with zucchini yet - has anyone?
