Default Raw food

It is believed that raw food is healthier than cooked food, hence more advisable to consume. I am not a big fan of uncooked food, but considering the health benefits, I tried to include more raw food in my daily meals.

What about you?

My favourite meal is salad, so you know I love raw vegetables and fruit, however I heard recently that carrots contain more vitamins if they are cooked! Isn't this a strange anomaly?

I like things like carrots and such raw. I think a lot of veggies I tend to eat raw.

Interesting Silly, I never heard about that. I like to drink carrot juice, which is raw of course. Though I read somewhere that it's better to consume cooked tomatoes than the raw ones.

Yes Homade, I read that tomatoes produce more lycopene and carrots (and some other vegetables0 produce more carotenoids when they are cooked. These are the antioxidants that are good for you. You can read more here.

There are certain types of vegetables that have better nutrient values when eaten raw. But you have to make sure that you are doing it the right way. Some are better when cooked. The link provided by SillyS is very enlightening.

The only veggies I eat on a regular basis are tomatoes. I'll eat celery if I have peanut butter or Ranch dressing on hand. It's not a lot, I know, but I do my part. :]

The only way I can eat vegetables is raw or roasted. Steaming, boiling, stir frying...yuck. If I'm not eating my vegetables raw, I make sure they are roasted to barely al dente.
