Default Recipe for Camping Foods?

We are getting ready to go camping for a week and we need some simple recipes that we can cook over a firepit. We aren't staying in a campground but are instead staying in a national forest. We have to bring a firepit with us because they require it for any fires started. Any simple ideas?

When I would go camping, we would take tin foil and put ground beef, peas and potatoes inside the foil, wrap it up and stick it in the fire for about 20 minutes. I guess you can put whatever veggies or starches you wanted in there. Also, we used those pie irons that you can get at any camping store and Wal-mart, put pizza filling or pie filling in the iron and stick it on the hot coals. You have to count 30 seconds for each side of the iron before checking the pie. You want it a golden brown! YUMMY!!

That sounds wonderful! I'm going to have to go shopping tomorrow to buy a few things anyway before we go. A friend suggested to use potatoes and onions with butter, salt and pepper in a tin foil pack too. I'm going to have to stock up on foil.
