Default Slow Cooker advice

I'm upgrading from my old slow cooker that's just a pot sat on a warming pad. Does anyone have any recommendations, preferably that I can buy from an online dealer in the UK?

I don't have a specific model suggestion but be sure to get one that is programmable to a warm setting after a number of hours. Even if it's not programmable, per se, it should have a setting that goes from high to low after a certain number of hours. I have found that either of these styles are perfect for slow cooking.

I think there are so many manufactures out there now and you can buy anything from amazon. I love the brand name rival. I would only get one that lets you set the timer and has a lock top.

I have never owned a crock pot with a lock top. I did not know they make them that way. Mine usually gets moisture around the top and on the counter. I will have to look into the lock tops.

I agree with looking on amazon. You can find anything there.

I bought one on Amazon but had to return it because it was really hot on one side, hot enough on a low setting to burn food and leave a mark on the cooker.

I love Amazon for buying stuff like this! If you spend over $25 you get free shipping. I would go with a well known name brand and definitely get one that you can turn on a low setting. I love my slow cooker, I use it 2-3 times a week and it frees up my time.

I got one for Christmas that you can put the lock top on. I cook and take food a lot to church functions so this was perfect for me to transport in the car. I've wanted one like this for a long time so I was pleasantly surprised when I got it.

My last one did that too so I found it was only good for thin soups. I got a programmable one for Christmas that is a Rival and really nice. I wish I had known about the lock tops before I got it though!
