I'm sure everyone has heard about the massive egg recall - 550 million, last I heard. But what's the deal now? When is it safe to buy eggs again?

I don't know. I know the farm in Wright County Iowa is not allowed to ship any more eggs until everything is settled. Still some people are still getting sick from eggs. I know I am very weary about eggs right now.

Do they know what caused this? How does an egg get salmonella? I do hope that they clear this up because I am finding it hard to avoid eggs right now.

Have people actually been sick? I know that all eggs (and chickens) have salmonella, as declared several years ago by the MP Edwina Curry, our Food Minister at the time here in the UK. She caused a huge panic at the time and people stopped buying eggs until we were all told that they are perfectly safe as long as they are cooked.

Yea, SillyS, so far I think about 1,300 people have gotten sick from the egg problem.

I heard on the news the other day that the FDA plans on visiting and inspecting all major egg suppliers, but these inspections won't be completed until the end of NEXT year. What does that mean? I can't trust eggs for a year and a half??
