Default White trash

Have you ever made “White Trash”? I’m looking for a recipe for this – what do you put in? What kind of chocolate do you use? Is it the round white chocolate discs? Do you have any tips??

I've never even heard of it and I'm afraid to google that because I'm not sure what I'll get. Can you describe what it is? I'm assuming it's a dessert but is it a pie, cake, candy, or what?

I've never heard of it but now I'm intrigued! Do you mean the snack mix we make with Chex cereal? You make the one I'm talking about with rice Chex, coat it with milk chocolate then toss it with powdered sugar. Then you mix it with peanuts and small pretzels. Is this it?

It sounds similar but it is white chocolate that we use and not milk chocolate. It is a mixture of all kinds of things though. I don't think there is powdered sugar.

I have seen a few recipes for it before but I have never tried to make my own. I know some of them are tricky as I have had both good and bad batched before, good luck in the hunt.

I have eaten it before too but never made it. I have never seen any with powdered sugar though. That does not even sound good to me. Every time I ate it, it was just white chocolate.

We make some the way Cricket is describing. We call it "Puppy Chow". It does sort of look like Puppy Chow when you get done with it. The milk chocolate with the powdered sugar on it makes it look just like the real stuff when you get done.

Here's a recipe for "Texas Trash". I also add almonds and walnut halves to the mix. You can also put in craisins if you wish. I found this on AllRecipes.

Texas Trash Snack Mix

Try some variations of this with what you like. You can also add regular oyster crackers for some "not too sweet" touches.

Mmmm. That sounds really good. Have you ever done this? Take two Ritz brand crackers, put peanut butter between two of them, place the crackers back together. Then dip the "sandwich" into white chocolate that's been melted. Place them on a piece of parchment or waxed paper to dry and then you can put them in a tin to store them. It's really good.
