Default Baby shower presents

I'd like to make some presents for my sister-in-law. She is due in a few months and is having a baby shower soon. I will be making a diaper cake, but I'm not sure what else I'll give her. I've thought about making some washcloths with Snoopy pattern (her favorite) and maybe blankets. Any other suggestions?

I made a diaper cake for my friend's baby shower. I put a few things in it like toys and miniature bottles of soap and lotion for the baby. I also made a few small blankets for the baby. I did the ones where you just tie the edges because I am terrible at sewing.

I have to toot my own horn, but the one thing I bring to the baby showers, that is always the talk of the shower, is a basket for the mom-to-be. I include coupons I have cut for all things baby, as well as things that she will need the first few weeks and never think to buy ahead of time. I also include candles, magazines, candy, maybe nice pretty slippers. The possibilities are endless and they can be modified to fit your sister-in-law. One thing I ALWAYS include is Mylecon (gas relief medicine for the baby). You want to be prepare for colics.

Lucretia, toot away! I have had a few showers and whilst the baby things are great, and very welcome, a few luxuries for me made them extra special.

Morrigan, it's nice that you are thinking of including some Snoopy things. Perhaps some pyjamas in that pattern for your sister in law would be good too.

Usually when I give a baby gift for a new baby, I find a fancy bottle of bubble bath for the new mother. It has always been appreciated!

I have two people that I am going to need to shop for soon and I am not sure if its best to order online or attempt to make something myself. Both live out of state so its going to cost with shipping no matter how I do it. What are you going do?
