| I started learning how to crochet when I was five years old and sold my first "headband" (a long chain) for 25 cents to both my aunts. I didn't have problems learning because I was very interested. I haven't taught my daughters yet because they are not showing any interest. I do try once in a while but don't push.
When I was in my 20s, my mom and I learned how to make the most basic of points which is the hose one. I found the name not that long ago when I did a search on knitting for dummies. Just with this simple stitch, I have been able to make countless blankets and scarves. It was easy to learn from us from a book because it is all in how you tense/hold the yarn and we already have experience with that.
I would recommend you visit your local craft store. Our local AC Moore and Michael's offer knitting classes. I am sure you will find a class that is just right for you. I highly recommend it. This is the one crafts that works best for watching TV. |
