Default Carving pumpkins

Do we have any expert carvers here? I gave up carving pumpkins a long time ago because I am terrible at it. Now that the kids are a little older I'd like to try again, but I don't want to botch it. Any tips for carving a pumpkin?

I am terrible but I do it anyway. If want to do a cool design make sure you print out a good picture from the computer. You can tape it on the pumpkin and poke holes to outline the lines you want to cut out. Sorry I can't be of more help, I'm terrible at it.

I am terrible too but I do it as well. Hey it doesn't have to perfect as long as the kids have fun. We just put faces on them - scary ones. Some people can make pumpkins look super cool ~ I'm not one of those people.

Getting a good template to put on the pumpkin to help crave it out is about the only way I can do it so that it looks half way decent! I've just never been very good at that sort of thing.

I am awful at carving pumpkins with a knife. That is why I use my handy dremel tool. It seems to be easier for me, that way. The part I find hard, is trying to pick from all the great stencils.

I am beyond terrible, at carving pumpkins. That is why I stopped carving pumpkins. My family prefers to paint pumpkins, rather than carving them. Good luck, on your pumpkin carving!

I am no expert pumpkin carver, but I do enjoy it. I get a few pumpkins for me to carve, and then I get some for the kids to paint. I can not think of any tips, except use a small, sharp knife.
