Default Crafts for Many Kids

Have you managed to involve a large number of kids in your crafts? How can you help them all at once, and still keep everything under control?

I'm not crazy enough to take on a bunch of kids at once but I have done crafts with as many as 4. As long as they are working in groups of two and are able to follow your directions, then there shouldn't be any problems. Of course it would have to be a craft that is fun and that they are in to as well.

Our daughter loves to paint. She the wife will often let her paint some wood crafts.

The most I have ever worked with was a group of ten girls, all about 9 or 10 years old on a sleepover. I think what helped is having a clear plan, having all the supplies ready to go, and a workspace big enough that they each had enough room to work and I could get around and between them to help.

As a pre-k teacher I had 20 kids at one time. Large group crafts are possible but for success you MUST plan ahead...have all your materials gathered and in one place. Make sure you have completed the project yourself so you are sure of the steps and are capable of explaining it to the age group you are working with. Havesomething else prepared for the kids who finish first have something to do and aren't messing with other children's projects.
