I love to cross stitch, but I never know what to do with the finished product. Frame them, sure, but I'm not really into that look. Can they be made into pillows? Has anybody ever done this?
Yes, you can absolutely make them into pillows. You can also make them into quilt blocks. The only thing about cross stitch you want to be careful with on pillows is that you put the pillows where people aren't going to be snagging on them. I'd hate for all your hard work to be damaged by someone's button.
Of course you can make them into a pillow. I would put a backing on the fabric and then add another back and stuff it. They are simple to make and people love them!
I have made several pillows and quilts from blocks that I cross stitched. You would want to add the backing just because then you won't see your stitches and knots. It really is simple to do.
