Default Do you sew your own clothes?

I think we have some that like to sew here so I was wondering, do any of you still sew your clothes? Like make dresses or shirts or pants? I use to years ago but got out of it and don't think I could do it today. Wish I still could though.

I used to, but material got so expensive, it was just cheaper to buy what we needed. The cost of clothing is going up more now though so I'm sure sewing will become more attractive again.

I never learned to sew. I don't think I could do it. My mother used to sew but I was always out and about instead of learning to sew with her. She used to make all of our clothes, but we have to buy.

I do what I call modifying my own cloths. I go to goodwill and find fabrics or outfits I like. Then I either un-stitch them to use the material or I make my own modifications. I did a whole line of ladies shirts I made out of men's button up shirts that were a big hit.

I don't sew, but I have learned to knit. The materials are expensive so I am kind of like Rhonda, I go to good will and chose sweaters knitted of colors I like and unravel them to reuse.

That's a good idea ladies. I have tons of patterns for all sizes, since I tend to go up and down in weight. I also had a bunch for the kids when they were little. I pretty much stick to classics when I buy clothes and patterns and I've been able to find material in some unusual places sometimes. I found my latest batch in a flea market for next to nothing.
