Default Good Thread Craft For Christmas?

Does anyone know any type of thread craft such as a crocheted, knitted, sewn, or embroidered craft I could make for Christmas? I have 10 friends in our local homemakers club that I need to make gifts for. We all decided we would make something for each other rather than buying something.

One year my best friend made all of us girls at work a quilt square. She framed it and presented it to us at lunch before Christmas. Each quilt square was different and framed it looked lovely! It was probably one of my favorite gifts. If you didn't want to do anything that involved, you could always make those mug mats filled with aromatic herbs. I have a few that I love...they smell so lovely when you put a hot mug on them!

You could make everyone a set of hats, mittens and scarves. I love to make these and give them as gifts. It is always so nice to give and get handcrafted gifts at the holidays.

Thanks for the tips! I love the quilt square idea! That sounds so nice. I could frame them myself. I have a bunch of vintage picture frames that I could use that just need some matting.
