I am trying to "laminate" some things I make to put on the wall for my little girl and I have been using clear contact paper. It's such a pain and so easy to get wrinkled. Please tell me there is an easier way!
There's a laminator machine that's pretty wonderful. Have you thought about trying to find one of those? If you know any teachers, they should have access to one at the school where they work.
Yeah, the contact paper is only really useful with stiff paper. Otherwise it kind of sucks towards the sticky and gets wrinkled. The heat activated machines are the best way.
Also, laminators are a lot cheaper than they used to be and the laminating sleeves are readily available at Wal*Mart and craft stores. My sister is a teacher and she has an A3 one that works wonders!
If you don't want to buy a laminator ask your local school as suggested or (believe it or not) ask your local funeral home. They may have a laminator they would allow you to use. They laminate a lot of newspaper obits and such for families after funerals. Good luck with your project!
