Default How Do I Separate Pictures from Glass?

I have a few family pictures that have unfortunately stuck to the glass over them. I don't want to ruin the pictures because they are priceless to me, but I don't know how to unstick them. Can anyone help?

I would be really surprised if you end up finding a way to remove them without ruining them. I would suggest taking a digital camera and take pictures of it through the glass until you get them to come out reasonably well. I speak from experience on that as I took pictures of pictures from frames as there was only a single copy kept at a relative's home. Using the viewfinder on the back of the camera to guide me, I just kept on taking pictures until I was satisfied that I had more of the picture than of the frame around it. I did not have problems with glare as I ended up not needing to use the flash.

That's a good idea Bree. I have ruined a few pictures doing taking them out of the frame. If your house has been damp it could happen and there's not a lot you can do about it. I would advise taking them somewhere to get them copied but most places now won't copy a professional photograph because they say the photographer has a copyright on them.

Oh gee. That's almost impossible. I don't think I've ever had any success doing it. As Bree suggested, I'd certainly take a picture of it first before I tried anything. You may want to take it to a photographer and see if they will photograph them for you to get a better quality picture.

I guess I am lucky since I never really got into the framing of photos and all of mine are digital now. I can print out the ones I want for home made cards and so on, but otherwise they are all on an external hard drive.
