I saw this posted on a blog that I follow. This lady makes bird feeders out of pine cones. I think it's a pretty cool craft to do with the kids. She puts peanut butter and bird seed on the pine cone and hangs them. I think you could go wild with these and best of all, they are "green".
Oh I forgot all about this. Down in Hocking Hills, Ash Cave, this is one of the activities they have the kids do. You can use a paperclip or string to hang them with. A very cheap, easy, yet rewarding activity.
Thanks for the information. I will added to the list of craft I will do with my twins this summer. Unbelievable how fast you run out of constructive things to do when you have the kid home all day long and don't want them to sit in front of the TV all day long.
Oh I know and there is only so much you can do with homemade play dough, finger paints and popsicles. I try to browse the mommy blogs to see what other moms are doing with their kids. Glad you guys liked what I found.
Me and the girls do this in the fall and the winter. We get a lot of birds coming south for the winter and so throughout we provide them with food and they provide us with entertainment.
