Default Pine Cone Wreaths

I love to make these during the fall season. You can put some many different kinds of decorations on them. It's easy to change them around from Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. One thing I would advise though if you make one and plan to hang on your outside door is to wire the cones on. The hot glue doesn't hold up to the weather and the opening and closing of the door all the time. (I learned this the hard way)

Thanks for that tip about wiring the cones to the wreath. I've seen some really nice ones made up and was thinking of trying one myself. We have tons of pine cones in all sizes around here so might as well put them to good use.

I've made a few of these in my day and yes, it is best to wire the cones on. It's easier to use the hot glue but it doesn't hold up as well. If you have it inside the house and won't be moving it around a lot, then it should be ok. Also wiring the decorations on is good to as you can change them up a lot easier.

I've made a few with very small cones. They are so pretty but I learned not to put them in a warm room. They will start to open up again and they will let the seeds slip out. It makes a terrible mess.

We are going to start making some of our own this year. I did mine as a kid growing up but my spouses family never even thought about it, they just bought everything. I love making things with the kids, it teaches them a little responsibility and we always have a good time with crafts. I think I have little artists on my hands.
