Default Porcelain Clay

Has anyone ever used any of this stuff? My kids are wanting to experiment with it to make something for my wife for Mother's Day this year. Is it easy to work with? Does it dry too quickly for kids to work with?

It is a messy job from what I have read about pottery. It would be better if you could bring them to a place where they could watch and learn the whole process, before they decide if they really want to do it. Youtube can help.

I think what Cricket is talking about is this:

Amaco Self-Hardening Porcelain Clay - BLICK art materials

It air dries and then you can paint it. It dries hard and translucent like regular porcelain and from what I've seen, it's comparable to baked porcelain. Pretty good for a cold dry method!
