Default Sand dollar ornaments

We just got back from the beach and we brought back about 50 sand dollars! We are planning on making Christmas ornaments this year with the kids. Anyone ever done this? What did you do to them?

Sounds like fun! I've seen some of these. Usually they are painted or they have glitter on them. You could have each child put their name on it with paint and then glitter.

Now that sounds pretty cool! You could even glue on mini sea shells and then paint pretty designs on them. I bet they will turn out gorgeous whatever you choose to do with them.

That's so cool! I would just spray them with spray craft glue and then sprinkle on prismatic glitter and hang them with ribbon. It would be a shame to cover them up that much.

Thanks for all the tips. I do like the name painting one and the glitter too. I think the kids will love glitter and their names. We are going to take them to the family Christmas party and let all the kids make them.

I love finding shells when we go to the beach. You very seldom find any good ones anymore unless you go to certain beaches or go somewhere they don't "sweep" the beaches. I've found pieces of seaweed and once saw a dead sea turtle. But most of the shells I have, we have bought.
