Default Shapes With Sponges?

Has anyone ever tried cutting a sponge to a shape you can stamp with. I thought of trying this on one of my kitchen walls. Maybe cut the shape of an apple and then cut another sponge in the shape of leaves and randomly stamp on the wall with the shape in paint? Do you think this would work/look good?

I have seen this done before and I thought it looked good. You may want to practice your stamping technique on paper before you move to the walls though.

Now that is crafty! I've used the sponges before to make crafts or stamp, but never cut my own sponge into the shape I wanted. I bet it would be a lot cheaper. You would want to try it out on paper, to be sure that the sponge doesn't put too much paint on the wall. You know get the feel for the sponge.

I am sure if you can do it with precision it should be fine, making sure it fully cuts to avoid any minor tears (that come become larger as time goes on). What are you going to use this for?

Back when I was a kid, I used to like buying those special designed sponges in stores and stuff, but there is absolutely nothing keeping us from just taking a normal sponge, and then shaping it into whatever we want, and chances are it'd probably be cheaper than buying a shaped sponge too.

It would definitely be cheaper! I have done this before and I thought it looked good just make sure your sponge is evenly coated with paint!

This is how I decorated my daughters nursery. I used a heart shape sponge and did different colors in a chair rail around the room.

I think it is an excellent idea and I have seen more than creations in the past. I like the design it creates and it can be used in various rooms depending on the desired effect.
