Default Stepping Stones?

Have you ever made your own stepping stones? I made a few of this this summer and it was pretty easy to do. I didn't get as creative as I'd like. But they did turn out nice. What is the most creative piece you done?

My husband and I found what we thought was a great idea on Ebay and thought we'd give it a shot. You mixed cement with a color powder and poured it in to a cobblestone like mold. It was like making your own pavers, but they never come off the ground and stick more than a cement driveway. The first row looked great, but that's as far as we've got because mixing the cement in a wheelbarrow takes such a long time. We'll finish it one day!

We did a few stepping stones with the kids hand and feet prints a couple of years ago. We bought some beads and shiny stones that they could press in but that as creative as we got. It was just to put in the garden and the kids had fun with it.

My mother-in-law makes her own stepping stones, as well. They are amazing and look professionally done. Maybe, this is an area that my husband needs to look into; in order to supplement our income. A nice walk way and landscaping adds value to almost any home; if done properly. Surely, there is a demand for it; with so many new houses on the market.

While we were on vacation at Lake Huron this summer, my daughters and I combed the beach for pretty, colorful rocks. When we got home we made patterns out of the colors and petoskey stones, made a stepping stone out of it and now it's in our garden. Whenever I want to remember our vacation, I just go out and look at it.

That sounds so nice. We moved into a place that has a crumbled concrete sidewalk and I have tried to find options to take care of it. I used mulch and placed it over it and then put pavers over the mulch but it didn't work very well.

I have never done this but it does sound interesting. I guess some of the other people I have spoken with about this did not have all their ducks in a row since they said it took much longer than a day, more like a week long project.
