Default Using Old Pillowcases

I saw a wonderful use for old pillowcases today. You can take the pillowcases, cut off the tops as far down as much as you wish. Then either take the material you have cut off or use another coordinating fabric to make handles for it. It makes a wonderful bag for the market or for other shopping.

Neat. That's much more creative than what I usually do. I usually end up cutting them up and using them for cleaning and as dust cloths.

I used to do some crazy patchwork and make smaller pillowcases for the throw pillows out of them. But I do not have the time now, and they end up in a pile under the bed with other old clothes...

This is a fantastic idea. I was thinking about buying bags for the groceries in an effort to be more proactive in the green lifestyle. This way I am reusing which saves money and keeps plastic our of the environment.

Great idea Hacha! I love tips like this! I would rather try to reuse or reduce rather than recycle. I don't want to buy stuff if I don't have to. Our grandmother's and mother's had the right idea about making do or doing without.

I had never thought to do that before. That is a great idea! The only issue I have with that is most of my "old" pillowcases are all gross and discolored. Which is a shame, or else I would totally try this out.

I take my old pillowcases and tie dye them and make pillow case dresses for my kids with them. They are great for summer. Sometimes I add shirring too, it looks really cute.
