Is it just me or is knitting yarn getting really, really expensive? I went to get yarn to make an afghan for Christmas and it cost me over $50.00 just for the yarn. Now comes the work. I hope my daughter in law likes this afghan because it's going to be worth something when I get it done.

That is precisely why I began spinning several years ago. It was when all these novelty yarns came onto the market, and skein prices skyrocketed! Of course, now that I spin, I haven't had time to knit! But spinning is very fulfilling to me.
