Do you have carpet through out your home or do you have hardwood or tile? When we were looking at houses it seemed carpeting had become pretty rare.

I think people are learning how difficult it is to get carpet really clean, so they are using other types of flooring. We've removed almost all the carpeting in our home. We were lucky and the previous owners had carpeted over hardwood in many of the rooms, which saved us a lot of money. We still have carpeting in our bedroom.

We have hardwood floors through out the house. We were lucky too though and there was carpet over it when we bought the house so they were in great shape.

My old house was hardwood except for bathroom and kitchen. The new house has some carpet and tile. I replaced the carpet in the office with laminate wood floor, and the carpet that was coming up in another room with stick 'em tile. I would love to remove the carpet from the dining room and living room still. And replace the small 6 inch tile that the house has.

Hardwood floors here but only because the house came with them. I actually kind of miss carpet even though hardwood is easier to clean.

Right now we do other than the bathrooms, the kitchen & the laundry room. We are going to end up taking three rooms when the remodel kicks in and doing straight hardwood, then the baths, kitchen & laundry room will all be some sort of tile.

The two things I am confused about are the hallways and the steps leading upstairs though.

My carpet has a mixture of carpet, tile and wood. My living room even has tile surrounding a bit of carpet in the middle. It sounds strange but it actually looks nice. Carpet is just so hard to clean.

We have carpet everywhere except the kitchen and bathrooms and I really don't like it. In the future, I would like to have carpet only in the bedrooms and wood and tile everywhere else. Carpet really is a huge pain in the butt!
