I'm curious as to how long some of you leave your Christmas decorations up after Christmas is over with? I know my mother always said you needed to take down the tree before the 1st as it was bad luck to leave it up after. I take mine down sometimes the day after because I'm ready to! I know some like to leave them up a long time. What about you?

I usually do it around the 1st. It usually depends on time, but with little kids running around, I'm ready to have one less thing to worry about.

I wait until the 2nd or 3rd. I love the holidays and I always hate to see the decorations go. If it was up to me, it would stay up all year I think the first week of January is reasonable though.

I like Buttercup's idea for a year-round Christmas tree. When February rolls around, you can remove the Christmas ornaments and hang some pink hearts. Taking down the tree is not one of my favorite activities.

My mom, who I'm told I get my love of Christmas from, leaves a small 4 foot tree up year round. She decorates it by the holidays. When no holidays, it is just another fake plant in the corner.
