This seems to be the question of the hour every holiday...do we do clear lights or colored lights? I have always been a fan of clear lights, but since I had kids I've started loving the colored lights in the house. I usually do a mix of clear and color on the tree because I like a bright and colorful tree. What do you typically do?
I prefer clear lights myself but it depends on what you plan to do for decorations too. Are you going all out or just tossing the lights up? We have a ton of shopping to still do for the holidays, need to stock up on some stuff that disappeared.
I am very uptight about the decorations. I like the lights to be all one color whether that is clear, red, blue, green, etc. I don't really like multicolored lights.
We all disagree with the kind of lights on the tree, but the way we settled it is the living room tree has white lights and traditional ornaments. The tree in the family room has colored lights and whatever else the kids want on it. Makes the decision easy.
We do a mix but the only colored lights we use are for a large visual tree that we make. This year we are goi to try and see if we can setup a new one that will stand about 8 1/2 feet high.
I am like GettingFit. I sort of prefer there to be a standard that is kept. It just looks better to me. I prefer color on the outside and clear on the inside of the house but that's just me.
Colors and plenty of them on the Christmas tree. I don't like trees that are clear lights, the trees don't look festive enough for me. The kids love the colored lights too.
We do a mix because the kids love it and they like the colored sets more than we do. The house is trimmed out in all white-clear and then we do all of the landscaping in color sets.
Sometimes we switch around it all depends. One year we may do different colored lights on the tree and another year we just do either all one color or the clear ones.
