Lightbulb Curtains

It's so hard to match colors and fabrics for curtains in all rooms. I am contemplating on using one neutral color and fabric for all the rooms.

Well, that would be one way to go and then use accent pieces to bring colour into the rooms. But I like color. I have one accent wall in my kitchen painted bright apple red. My bathroom is in a soft sage green and my bedroom is in a mingled lavender/light lavender colour.

When I bought curtains, I just bought a darker version of my wall color. My kitchen is a beige color and my curtains are a darker beige. My walls in my living room are a light green and the curtains are a darker green almost olive. I'm clueless when it comes to decorating.

I use blinds on all my windows. The kitchen and the sliding glass doors are the only ones with curtains. I do want to replace the ones on the doors though. I also have hard time matching them. I wish I knew more about home decorating. We can`t afford the fancy stuff so our living room doesn`t really match.

My mom uses blinds too! She has some custom made panels that cost $100 per panel. Yikes, but they have lasted for well over 15 years thuse far. They look so wonderful too.

I need to actually get new curtains for my house, we have been "blinds people" for far too long and I really can not stand it anymore.

I bought the same pattern curtains throughout the house but they come in a beige background with a pale blue or terracotta flower motif so the blue ones match my living room and kitchen walls and the terracotta matches the bedroom and hall.
