Default Dang thats expensive!

Those silly little light switch covers for kids? Wow, they are like 10 bucks for one at my local Home Depot. We were out shopping for a replacement and some other stuff but the price caught my eye. I feel bad but my kids are not getting a 10.00 light switch cover that they will outgrow in two years, that is silly.

Do you mean the decorative ones or the child proof ones? If you mean the decorative ones you can make your own for a lot less than 10 bucks.

I wouldn't pay $10.00 for a decorative light switch of any kind. That's just too high! I wouldn't mind making my own, but I would need some ideas. Can anyone help me with some?

I think it depends on how the room is decorated. You could use most kinds of paints even acrylic or spray paint. Then with a glue gun or liquid nail you could glue stuff to it.

Ouch! That is crazy. Can't you just buy a plain white one and use craft paint to paint it a pretty color? I need to buy about 8 of them for the bedrooms so I hope that idea will work.

I found some that you could put wall paper to match or really anything else you could put on paper. I had an apple kitchen and I printed a page off on my computer printer and cut out the template on it. It looked really nice. I could see letting the child draw something they liked and then putting that in the cover. They would love it and it would be a way to let them participate in decorating their room.

I think being able to make your own sounds like a better idea than spending that kind of cash on it. Besides if you have kids in the house its a great activity for them and they are helping so they feel "grown up" too.
