Default Day Beds

Does anyone have a day bed that they use for a couch in their living room? I have been looking for an extra spot to put a bed and I thought this may be an alternative to a couch.

Do you mean like a futon or something? I'm sure lots of people use that as a couch in their living room. Ikea has some really nice ones.

They have the day beds that you can get a trundle bed underneath for even more sleeping room or you can get one of those Futons. Just depends on what you are looking for.

My daughter had a day bed in her room with a trundle underneath for the extra bed. She used the bed as a couch in her room (in front of the flat screen TV). It wasn't all that comfy for a couch.

Futon in the living room yes but daybed no, never seen in a living room. I have once though seen an extra couch in a dinning room before which came in handy when surprise family came to visit in a small house that was only two bedrooms in a duplex.

I had a daybed growing up, and I think it would be a very uncomfortable couch. A futon might be a little more comfortable for you.

I would keep the day bed out of the living room. They're a pain to disassemble, I know, but maybe that's the best solution if you don't have room. If you only have an occasional use for an extra bed, maybe an air mattress would be the best solution. Have you thought about selling the day bed?

I don't think I would like that. They aren't that comfortable to sit on even if you add a lot of pillows. I wouldn't want to sit on it for longer than it takes me to put on my shoes.
