Default I Found A Cheap Way To Get Paint!

I have discovered that if you go to any place that sells paint, they will have a few cans somewhere, usually off in a corner or end of an aisle, that has been "mistinted". What that means is that someone has come in to get paint and when they tinted the paint it didn't turn out as the customer ordered. They sell these at a great discount and I've gotten some really good deals this way. I painted my bathroom for under $15 and my kitchen for about the same. I just find a color I can live with and decorate from there. It's a great money saver and you find there are a lot of colors that you didn't think you would like that work out for you and you come to love. Save money people!

This is a great tip. I recently started buying supplies to turn a spare bedroom into my home office and found a gallon of a pale yellow paint that should be perfect on the walls. I hadn't thought about yellow until I saw it but since it's a basement room, a light color will help with the low level light in the room. The gallon only cost me $10 and it's normally $32 paint so it was a great deal.

I'll have to start looking for paint this way. Thanks Ella for the tip. I'm going to do some repainting this summer so I guess next trip to Lowe's I'll have to see what they have.

Years ago a boarder moved in with us with some paint she'd bought for her old apartment. She let us use it, and we painted two rooms for no cost to us.

The last time I bought paint I was told that you could return leftover paint that would be recycled. I forget exactly how much you had to have, but that also sounded like a good idea.

Hopefully it won't eliminate the chance at good deals on mistinted paint as mentioned above.

I have found some of the best mis-tinted paint around when I cleaned up and used a spare room then converting it into an extra bedroom. Its a mix between something that is called prince charming (Disney) and a middle lavender color purple. Love it!
