Default Insulating Draperies

I have been trying to find a good pair of insulating draperies that suit me for some time. I want the type that have the "foam" on one side and the thick fabric on the other. I would also prefer draperies I could get with a valance. Does anyone have any idea where I can try?

Walmart, Target, and Bed, Bath & Beyond all sell these type of blackout thermal drapes. I don't like them because they are so heavy and look horrible from the outside.

Claudia, JC Penney also has a nice selection and reasonably priced, too. I used to have a set that I actually bought on clearance, so I saved even more. If you have an issue with drafts that will be the way to go. I use heavy lined drapes, but they don't have the foam backing.

I'll have to give them a look. I have looked for a long time and hadn't really thought of JC Penny. My mother actually used to buy draperies from there.

Good ones can cost some money depending on who you buy them from, esp. catalog shopping. I found that out the hard way when we got married, someone got us a set as a wedding gift as we had also just moved into a new home. Trying to match the set cost a small fortune!

I think you can pretty much buy the heavy thermal drapes just about anywhere you can buy regular drapes. They can get pretty pricey depending on how big your windows are.
